![]() ![]() But the IFC format is something that should allow us to work outside Autodesk environment and now it just doesn't. If other software (like BIMsight) is used, using IFC file export from Revit with a plugin or native IFC export, IFC model will be positioned to wrong Z coordinate. And it works very well in Revit or while using Navisworks. Conclusion: Navisworks implemented a fix for the incorrect position of IFC file export from Revit. Any model author should have the possibility to put the project base point as he or she wishes and shared coordinates is a tool to deal with it and put everything in it's place. I wonder if there are some still not resolved issues with exporting from Revit to IFC or maybe some special workflow one needs to follow to make it work?Īs I understand the shared coordinates idea - it shouldn't relate on internal origin point. I couldn't find anything about this particular issue online but I know that ifc export with shared coordinates is a relatively new feature and before not so long ago ifc used only internal origin point for exporting. Some of the model's project base points are moved from the internal origin point vertically. Something tells me that this issue might be connected to the internal origin point. We use Revit 2019 for this particular project, but I checked this workflow in Revit 2020 as well. After loading IFC files into Solibri (or any other IFC viewer) some of them are shifted in a vertical direction. I want to start using Solibri for checking and clashes (and sharing models outside of the design team), so I exported all the models to IFC using shared coordinates in export options. We are using shared coordinates and it's all good while working in Revit itself or in Navisworks. ![]() Now I'm working on a project with about 10 different Revit models. I used shared coordinates in many different projects, with up to 40-something different Revit models sharing site. I use Revit on a daily basis and consider myself an advanced user.
